Workshops for teachers

Workshops No. 2:

The Raspberry Pi Pico workshops will be held on two dates: 31.01.2025 and 21.02.2025 at the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University of Technology (75 Koszykowa Street, 00-168 Warsaw) in room 225C. The workshops are dedicated to high school science teachers, during which they will get to know the Raspberry Pi Pico W board and the prepared interdisciplinary IoT projects, which they will be able to implement in classes or extracurricular activities in their schools.

One of the boards that will allow you to enter the world of IoT technology is the Raspberry Pi Pico W, which is a compact, easy-to-use and relatively cheap board. It is based on an efficient microcontroller and includes a WiFi and Bluetooth module, which makes it a great alternative to the Arduino board and provides the possibility of making many interesting IoT projects. During the workshops, we will use the MicroPython language, which is a modified version of the Python language for operating microcontrollers. We will carry out a number of interesting projects that can be used in classes with high school students.

Workshop objectives:

  • familiarizing teachers with the concept of the Internet of Things,
  • familiarizing teachers with the methodology of teaching IoT in high schools,
  • developing technical skills (electronics and programming) using the Raspberry Pi Pico board,
  • presenting the results of the IoT4schools project to participants, in particular with prepared educational materials for teachers, students and IoT projects that can be done with students in classes.

The workshops are free and conducted in Polish. Anyone can sign up for the workshops and no preliminary skills are required.
